Valencia president Murthy hints Guedes will follow Batshuayi signing

Valencia president Anil Murthy says their swoop for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will soon be followed by another signing.

It's been suggested the deal for Batshuayi won't put off Valencia from closing an agreement for PSG striker Goncalo Guedes.

Guedes spent last season on-loan at VCF and they're keen to bring him back to Spain.

Murthy stated: "We have a new reinforcement in Valencia, and in a few days we will further strengthen the team. A year ago I was here and I said we were going to strengthen the squad, we did it, and today we are in the Champions League.

"This year we will strengthen the team because we need to be competitive, and we will be. I am happy to be surrounded by so many Valencians, just before starting the centenary year. It will be an exciting but challenging year. I am optimistic and that is why we will strengthen the team in the coming days."

Superdeporte says Valencia intend to sign Guedes for €45m and include a clause of a hefty 20 per cent for any sell-on fee.
