Valencia are ready to launch a major offer for Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera.

The Mirror says Herrera is a £30million-plus target for Valencia.

The Spanish side's coach, Marcelino, is a huge admirer of the midfielder and has asked owner Peter Lim to try to land him this summer.

Marcelino knows Herrera well after working with him at Real Zaragoza and wants to build a side around the 27-year-old which is capable of challenging for the Champions League next summer.

However, sources close to Valencia say United have rebuffed an enquiry and that there are no plans to sell Herrera this summer.
