Valencia keen to strike Albelda compromise

Valencia are anxious to avoid having to go to court over David Albelda's contract row.

Albelda has been frozen out by coach Ronald Koeman and is seeking £40 million in compensation and a free transfer to leave the Mestalla.

Marca says since the appointment of Rafa Salom as new GM, Valencia have attempted to find a compromise with Albelda's minders in order to avoid a tribunal hearing. It's suggested Albelda would be satisfied with a free transfer and a payout of £3.5 million for the remaining years of his present deal.
