Valencia are on the trail of Sporting Gijon midfielder Diego Castro.
The 28 year-old is off contract in June and Valencia are keen to discuss a pre-contract in January.
Sources close to Castro admit he welcomes Valencia's interest.
"Diego wants to play in a great team and Valencia is a pleasing destination," said a close friend.
