Valencia, Herrera fit but Pogba not for Man Utd derby clash

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Antonio Valencia will return for Manchester United on Thursday night.

The Ecuadorian was rested for the weekend's 2-0 win at Burnley but is back in contention for the local derby with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Also available is midfielder Ander Herrera, who copped a knock at Turf Moor, but Paul Pogba will miss after succumbing to a hamstring strain late in the contest.

Asked which players would be back for the short trip across Manchester, Mourinho said: "Valencia.

"We go with what we have and we fight with what we have.

"I trust the boys and we go with everything we have until the last second of the season, we hope. We are fighters, the boys are fighters, and we go."

When asked if Pogba and Herrera were fit, the manager replied: "Paul, no. Herrera, yes."

United are already without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo, Juan Mata, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones making the Pogba problem a little more magnified than it may have been.
