Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini's search for a replacement for Jerome Boateng has led him to Spain.
Mancini feels their sale of Boateng to Bayern Munich in August has left his squad short defensively and among transfer targets ahead of the January market now is Valencia fullback Jeremy Mathieu.
Los Che would be prepared to sell Mathieu for around €10 million.
The main stumbling block for Mancini is that Mathieu is Cup-tied from the Champions League this season.
