Valencia have expressed interest in Juventus defender Jean-Alain Boumsong.

The former Newcastle United centre-half, a favourite of former coach Didier Deschamps, is on the outer at Juve following the arrivals of Jorge Andrade [Deportivo La Coruna] and Zdenek Grygera [Ajax].

Valencia have asked Juve to name their price for Boumsong, who would arrive to add defensive depth to Quique Sanchez Flores' squad after last week's capture of Ivan Helguera from Real Madrid.
