Valencia coach Nuno has hailed Diego Alves the best goalkeeper in Spain.

Alves saved a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty during Saturday's 2-2 at Real Madrid.

Nuno enthused: "Diego has something special. He does a great job for the team. He is a mature goalie and beyond his saves, gives us and conveys much confidence.

"But he saves 50 per cent of penalties. That's what he represents for the team.

"He is very calm. We defend and he helps us a lot."
