Valencia coach Unai Emery has been told he must work with a smaller squad next season.
Los Che chiefs plan to cut squad numbers from 25 to 22 in order to reduce costs.
This could mean four players being shown the door - at the very least - in the summer with Valencia confident of signing Ajax fullback Gregory van der Wiel at the end of the season.
