Valencia are closing in on an agreement over a new contract with David Silva.

The Spain international is among the lowest paid players at the Mestalla - on around £1.25 million-a-year.

Silva's agents, Julio Llorente and Amadeo Rengel, have been seeking a double-your-money pay-rise, but are ready to climbdown to accept Valencia's £1.7 million-a-year compromise.
