Valencia chief Suso Garcia Pitarch has confirmed talks with Chelsea midfielder Mikel John Obi.

Garcia Pitarch says the La Liga strugglers have offered the 29-year-old a route out of the club.

"In the case of Obi Mikel, with Chelsea's permission, I met with him in London on Christmas day," Pitarch told Superdeporte.

"I informed him of the option [of joining Valencia]. He said he would think about it."

The Nigeria midfielder is yet to feature under Antonio Conte at all this season and his contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer.
