Valencia sports chief Amedeo Carboni has confirmed they're in talks with Juventus for striker David Trezeguet.

"There has been contact so we could understand what the situation was," Carboni told RaiSport. "We would certainly like Trezeguet. Inside I am optimistic, but in official terms we don't have much of a chance."

Liverpool and Arsenal are among European rivals threatening Valencia hopes.
