Valencia's board are winding back plans to cash in on David Villa this summer.

Villa had been put up for sale before the European Championship, but his hat-trick for Spain against Russia this week has directors thinking twice.

Valencia chief Juan Sanchez said: "He's a player of Valencia and has a contract with us. He's a very important player and difficult to replace in the market.

"We do not have any news and we are reassured about his future, we do not know even if bids will be made for him as we have not yet named his price."
