Valencia all clear for Nou Mestalla work

Valencia are resuming their work on the Nou Mestalla.

Valencia have reached an agreement with Bankia to resume work on the Nou Mestalla, the Primera Division club have confirmed.

Club president Manuel Llorente labelled the deal a "landmark agreement", with Los Che keen to increase their capacity from 45,000 to 75,000 seats.

A club statement read: "Valencia Football Club has reached an agreement with Bankia to resume work on the new stadium, with an estimated period of two years until completion.

"With this agreement, the club also ensures a medium-term financing at market conditions and adjusted to their current income levels."

Llorente added: "Tens of hundreds of thousands of Valencians will soon be able to see their team play in one of the best stadiums in Europe.

"The new home of Valencia FC will take a leap of quality in all areas."
