Valencia striker David Villa admits the reports of a rift with Real Madrid skipper Raul "has damaged us both".
Villa is regarded as Spain's best attacking player, but his success has been overshadowed by Raul's continuing snub by coach Vicente del Bosque and before him, Luis Aragonese.
"This debate has damaged us both," conceded Villa. "I never liked it because I think it has hurt us both. We have always had a good relationship when we have been on the same team, so I'm calm.
"I work for myself and not against anyone else.
"If one day I must give up my No7 shirt (with Spain) I would not care."
