Valencia striker Roberto Soldado is urging David Villa to make a full recovery and reach next year's Euros.

The Barcelona striker faces five months rehab as he undergoes shin surgery today.

"Clearly, I'm close to him, but in my heart I hope he can recover as soon as possible because I have appreciation and affection for him," said Soldado.

"Spain would need him, all the Spanish want him to be in the European Championships and we are sure he's going to get there."
