Victor Valdes will be offered a new contract by Barcelona this week.
The goalkeeper's current deal expires in 2010 and he complained last week that he hadn't heard from management about opening talks over a new agreement.
However, Sport says Barca intend to begin negotiations with Valdes' minders in the coming days.
