Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano is shocked by the jeers aimed at the club's major players. Real coach Carlo Ancelotti, along with captain Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo, have been booed and jeered by Real fans during games this year.
"I feel embarrassed by what is going on," Valdano told local radio.
"The whistles for Casillas, Ancelotti and Cristiano are not easy to understand. Although the football played against Deportivo wasn't exciting. In this squad, every player needs to lift their efforts by ten per cent."
Valdano continued, "The professionalism of Cristiano is indisputable.
"Real Madrid have tremendously suffered from the downturn of Cristiano Ronaldo. When he does not reach his standards, Cristiano can give off a feeling that he is disconnected."
