Jorge Valdano admits Real Madrid's pursuit of a new striker signing ended his relationship with Jose Mourinho.
The pair disagreed over Real's need for a new centre-forward, which eventually saw former general manager Jorge Valdano squeezed out this summer.
"The discussion of the 9 marked my relationship with Mourinho," said Valdano.
"Reinforcements have been brought to the taste of the coach, he has a club that now suits him."
