Uzbekistan name squad for World Cup qualifier

The Uzbekistan squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Qatar and Australia has been named.

Coach Mirdjalal Kasimov has named a 27-man squad which includes three new players; Stanislav Andreev, Michael Naumov and Artyom Filiposyan.

The Uzbeks are currently on the bottom of their group which is headed by Australia followed by Japan, Bahrain and Qatar.

Uzbekistan meets Qatar in Pakhtahor on Saturday March 28 then Australia in Sydney on Wednesday April 1.

The squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Ignatiy Nesterov, Michael Naumov, Temur Juraev

Defenders: Anvar Gafurov, Anzur Ismailov, Artyom Filiposyan, Sakhob Jurayev, Islom Tuhtahudjaev, Vitaliy Denisov, Hayrulla Karimov, Islom Inomov, Ilhomjon Suyunov

Midfielders: Odil Akhmedov, Timur Kapadze, Jasur Hasanov, Fozil Musaev, Server Djeparov, Ildar Magdeev, Aziz Ibragimov, Victor Karpenko, Aziz Haydarov, Ilyas Zeytullayev, Stanislav Andreev

Strikers: Farhod Tadjiyev, Maksim Shatskikh, Anvarjon Soliev, Shakhboz Erkinov
