Utrecht's Sarota taking nothing for granted in Australia setup

Adam Sarota acknowledges the fact that he has to work just as hard as everybody else in the Australia squad in order to get on the plan to Brazil.

The 25-year old FC Utrecht midfielder was selected by Ange Postecoglou in the provisional roster of 30 for the World Cup which will be whittled down to 27 on May 26 before it is trimmed to 23 in early June.

Sarota returned from a knee injury in December to make 15 Eredivisie appearances for Utrecht in the second half of the season but is not taking his European-based status for granted ahead of Brazil 2014.

"It's a very important few weeks for everyone to perform well and I think every player knows they don't have a ticket, even in the 27 [to Brazil]," Sarota said on the weekend.

"Each player knows it's not 100 percent done. I have to try and train well and hopefully that's enough.

"I'm not thinking I'm going to Brazil just because I play overseas. Even though there's a lot of A-League players here, they are also very good.

"I'm not rating my chances highly but I'm also not underestimating myself."

Sarota has played three times for the Socceroos during his career with his last international coming in a friendly win over Lebanon in September 2012.
