FC Utrecht youngster Tommy Oar has replaced Hull City forward Richard Garcia in Australia's Asian Cup squad.

29-year old Garcia has had to withdraw from the squad because of a knee injury, paving the way for Socceroos coach Holger Osieck to bring in left-sided teenager Oar.

Osieck consulted with medical staff from Hull City who determined that the problem was serious enough to prohibit the former West Ham United and Colchester man from taking part in the event which kicks off in Qatar on Friday.

Australia's first match is on Monday, January 10 (12:!5am AEDT) against India before they take on South Korea on the 14th and Bahrain on the 18th.
