John Utaka has told Portsmouth fans the players are hurting after their 6-0 humiliation at Manchester City.

"I know it is hard for the fans who have come a long way but it is also very hard for the players as well," the Nigeria international told the Portsmouth News.

"When you lose a game like this, you don't want to hear about it again and you don't want to watch it on TV. But it's a part of the game when you lose so we have to more forward and not look back on what has happened.

"It really hurts, but we do not deserve to be beaten by six when we have got the players we've got. It wasn't because they were so much better. It was just a very bad day for us."
