USA U20 international Sheanon Williams has signed with 2009 MLS champions Real Salt Lake.

The 19-year old right-back was hoping to get picked up by a European club after last year's U20 World Cup which was held in Egypt.

Williams enjoyed a successful season in 2008 with the University of North Carolina, helping them to the NCAA final in his only collegiate season.

The Dorchester native played with Carolina Dynamo in the USL Premier Development League last year and was named in defence in the Eastern Conference team of the year and was runner-up for U19 Player of the Year.
