Juergen Klinsmann says that Landon Donovan is well down the pecking order in the USA national team.
The LA Galaxy star is back in action for his club but is some way off forcing his way back into the US side after taking a self-imposed break over the winter.
"There are players clearly ahead of Landon Donovan right now," Klinsmann said.
"We'll see now how he will do in the next couple of weeks and months. We'll look at the entire picture. And then make our calls."
Donovan scored his first goal of the season in the 2-0 win over Sporting Kansas City on the weekend but Klinsmann said that is nowhere near enough for a recall at this point.
"It's not down to one game when you score one goal, 'Now you're back in the team,'" he added.
"I've always said that I would observe him like we will observe all the other players over the stretch of a period of time."
