The USA national team will take on Poland in an international friendly in October it has been announced. The match will take place at Chicago's Soldier Field on Saturday, October 9 - kick-off is at 7:00pm CT.
USA coach Bob Bradley said having matches like this in place was a huge positive for the national team and was very excited about the future fixture which will come at an important time for the Polish national team.
"These fixture dates are a fantastic opportunity to have the group together for an extended period and then put the work to the test with a difficult match," said Bradley.
"We know this is an important opportunity for Poland as they prepare for the 2012 European Championship, so we expect a challenging game. Chicago has a fantastic tradition of supporting soccer and the U.S. national team, and with the large Polish community in the area it should make for an exciting atmosphere."
The USA have taken on Poland 16 times with the first encounter taking place back in 1924. The record sits at seven wins, seven draws and two losses the way of the States.
