USA's Edu set to join Rangers exodus

Maurice Edu is believed to be the next Rangers player to join the summer exodus.

The USA international midfielder, who is attracting interest from clubs in Turkey, last night indicated that he is unlikely to transfer his contract over to Charles Green's newco as he seeks to continue playing at the highest level with Rangers set to be relegated to Scotland's Second or Third Division.

"I'm no different than anyone else. You want to go as far as you can in this game and see how far you can go," Edu said.

"It's a short career, you know? You want to try to play at the highest levels possible and test yourself against some of the best players."

Rangers have already lost 10 players, including Steven Naismith, Steven Whittaker, Allan McGregor and Steven Davis, and it appears that Edu could be next as the Glasgow club falls deeper into the mire.
