FIFA released its latest world rankings on Thursday with a favourable result for CONCACAF's surprise packet Costa Rica.
Los Ticos have moved up three positions to number 13 in the world on the back of their most recent 3-3 result (7-6 win on penalties) over Uruguay on November 13, 2014.
Costa Rica's record in the five matches between their successful World Cup in Brazil (quarter-finals) and that meeting with Uruguay was four wins from five outings which catapulted them into the top 20.
They are now deeply engrained in the top echelon of national teams as they sit ahead of the likes of Chile, England, Romania, Czech Republic, Algeria, Croatia and African champions Ivory Coast.
Other big moves in CONCACAF saw the USA drop 13 places to 31 having lost three of their five matches since October last year while Mexico moved back one to 21 and Panama fell six to 61.
