USA draw NZ, Ukraine and Myanmar in U20 World Cup

The USA U20 team have landed a favourable draw for the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup.

Tab Ramos' side have been drawn in Group A for the 20th edition of the U20 WC which kicks off in New Zealand in late May.

The US will take on hosts New Zealand, Europe's Ukraine and Asia's Myanmar which is seen to be a very reasonable lot for the improving outfit which has excited head coach Ramos.

"It's always an exciting moment to know your group as the reality sets in for the World Cup stage," Ramos said in a statement.

"New Zealand, Ukraine and Myanmar will certainly prove to be formidable opponents. At this phase, every country is a challenge, so we will need to be clicking on all cylinders tactically, physically and mentally.

"We made great strides during the qualifying tournament, and we're confident that with our deep pool of players that we can have a successful run at the World Cup."

The US' first fixture is against Myanmar in Whangarei on May 30 before they meet NZ on June 2 and Ukraine on June 5 both in Auckland.
