USA national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann has re-opened the door for Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan.

The 27-year old, who has made 19 international appearances, has been selected in the 21-man squad for next week's friendly with Italy and Klinsmann feels it is a show of faith from him to the man constantly overshadowed at both club and country level by Shay Given and Tim Howard respectively.

"This was a good opportunity to show Brad that the door is always open and to get him back around the team again," Klinsmann said.

"It's still important that he gets in a situation where he is playing consistently."
