USA will face Costa Rica in a friendly match in New Jersey on October 13, three days after the Confederations Cup qualifying clash with Mexico.
The match, to be played at New Jersey's Red Bull Arena, will be the first between the two countries since late 2013.
It is expected USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann will use the match to experiment with different players ahead of CONCACAF's 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign, beginning in mid-November.
