Clint Dempsey has agreed a multi-year personal endorsement deal with EA sports, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The agreement sees Dempsey, who sealed a move from Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur to Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit Seattle Sounders in August, become a soccer ambassador for the video game brand.
The 30-year-old will feature in a series of marketing and advertising campaigns for the US firm throughout North America, including the Fifa 14 GameStop commercial which launched this week.
"Clint Dempsey is an incredible talent on the field who exudes a palpable excitement and passion for the sport," said Randy Chase, the senior director of North America marketing for EA Sports. "His return to the United States marks a tremendous leap forward for soccer in the country and we are thrilled to partner with Clint on many projects that will continue to drive the exploding popularity of the sport in America."
