US soccer legend Landon Donovan is eager to work with Swansea City.
The American consortium - led by businessmen Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan, who completed the deal earlier this month - believe that having the former LA Galaxy star on board as a figurehead proves they want people with strong football knowledge involved in the running of Swansea, while his presence will also do the club's profile no harm.
"I have spoken to them (Levien and Kaplan)," Donovan told the Washington Post.
"Nothing is finalized. It's possible something happens. We should know more in the coming week or so.
"If it works out, it's an exciting opportunity and a way to be connected and help the game. Swansea's not in the States, but it's a way for me to be helpful and use everything I've learned. Let's hope it comes to fruition."
