Yesterday saw the third round matches of the 2011 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.

Eight fixtures were played with only one upset involving USL Pro league team Richmond Kickers who knocked out Columbus Crew with a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Nozomi Hioryama and Matthew Delicate.

In other matches, Chicago Fire defeated Rochester Rhinos via a first-half Diego Chaves goal, New York Red Bulls defeated FC New York 2-1 with goals from Corey Hertzog and John Rooney, Sporting Kansas City won 3-0 over Chicago Fire Premier, Real Salt Lake defeated Wilmington Hammerheads 2-0, FC Dallas scored an injury-time winner to take out Orlando City SC 3-2, Michael Fucito scored twice to allow Seattle Sounders to beat Kitsap Pumas 2-1 and LA Galaxy beat Los Angeles Blues 2-1.
