US national team set for Chile friendly in 2011

The USA national team will take on Chile in their first international match of 2011.

Bob Bradley's men meet La Roja on Saturday, January 22, at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California in what will be a good lead-up match for summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup.

"We're excited to play a team of Chile's caliber to start the year," said Bradley.

"We are focused on getting ready for the CONCACAF Gold Cup next summer, and this game provides a good start for our preparations as we assess the pool for 2011 and beyond."

A largely experimental USA squad, consisting of six yet-to-be-capped players, is currently preparing for Wednesday's friendly with South Africa in Cape Town.
