USA national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann believes success at club level can help players become better on the international scene.
A trio of US hopefuls - Oguchi Onyewu (Sporting Lisbon, Portuguese Cup finalists), Herculez Gomez (Santos Laguna, Mexican title) and Michael Parkhurst (Nordsjaelland, Danish title) - are all in positions to win silverware with their clubs at the moment and Klinsmann suggests it will be a bonus to the US team if they can help their respective teams.
"Michael Parkhurst is playing right now for the chance to be Danish champions. Gooch is playing in the Portuguese Cup final. Herculez Gomez is playing for a title in Mexico.
"It would be awesome if these guys come in with their chests puffed out. The more success they have with their club teams, the more confident they are.""It's really awesome to see,"Klinsmann told USsoccer.com.
