US boss Bradley admits to having interest in EPL jobs

USA national team boss Bob Bradley admits he had interest in two English Premier League jobs he was recently linked with.

Fresh from signing a four-year contract extension with US Soccer to remain in charge of the US team, Bradley said that he was interested in taking jobs at both Aston Villa and Fulham.

But Bradley insisted that he never entered discussions with either club before deciding to stay at the helm of the national team he has guided since 2006.

"People would ask me whether there is interest," Bradley said. "I would say yes, there is.

"But I would also say very, very definitively that I didn't have discussions with either club."

The link with Villa came as club owner Randy Lerner is an American but they made it clear they were after a manager with EPL experience - something Bradley does not have.

"It is understandable given the way that top clubs in Europe operate that they look for that type of experience," Bradley added. "But I do think that coaching in big tournaments like Confederations Cup and the World Cup is also an indication of experience."
