The agent of Alvaro Fernandez says his client is looking to depart Seattle Sounders.
The 26-year old Uruguay international landed at the MLS club in July 2010 and has been a star for the Sounders since, particularly throughout the 2011 season in which he scored nine goals.
But his representative, Luis Aguerre, says that Fernandez is eyeing a better standard of league to compete in.
"The player is interested in playing in a higher level of championship," said Aguerre. "It all depends on the interest and the seriousness of the project that is proposed to us."
It is believed that Italian Serie A outfit Palermo are keen on Fernandez who counts Montevideo Warriors, Puebla, Nacional, Vitoria Setubal and Universidad de Chile as some of his former clubs.
