Brazilian-born Alex wants to return to the J-League champions after failing to establish himself since moving to Salzburg on a 12-month loan in January.
"Alex's agent is based here in Japan and we will probably have talks some time this month," Urawa's Daisuke Maruyama told Reuters.
"Timing-wise we are at a very busy time in the season but signing Alex for next season will be something we will discuss."
Urawa take on Iran's Sepahan in the two-legged Asian Champions League final on November 7 and 14.
