Kevin de Bruyne is pushing RacingGenk to sell him to Chelsea today.
The Daily Mail says Chelsea lodged a bid of almost £6million yesterday and that de Bruyne was convinced it would be enough to seal his dream of joining fellow-countrymen Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge.
But Genk dug their heels in and rejected it, much to the 20-year old winger's dismay.
With time running out to beat tonight's deadline, de Bruyne and his agent will apply pressure to Genk bosses after being assured the Belgian champions would not stand in his way, should an acceptable offer be made.
Chelsea are even happy for de Bruyne to spend the rest of this season on loan at Genk, as manager Andre Villas-Boas continues bulding for the future.
