Everton caretaker boss David Unsworth is set for talks with club powerbrokers about his future at Goodison Park.
Victory over Watford is expected to still see Unsworth replaced by a more experienced manager.
The Daily Mail says Unsworth, who has been in caretaker charge since Ronald Koeman was sacked 14 days ago, expects to speak to majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright about what the future holds for him.
He has impressed players with the way he has been on the training ground and the mood around the club has gradually improved, not least after the morale-boosting 3-2 win over Watford.
Unsworth said immediately after that game: "I'm just delighted. I have said it all along. What will be will be. Whoever gets the job, I will shake their hand.
"If it is me? Amazing. If it's not, it's not. I have stood there for the last two weeks a very proud man. What will be will be. We have had tough games but that's no excuse. Other people will make the decisions."
