Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is being linked with a shock return to Arsenal. The Mail on Sunday says Van Persie's family has failed to settle in Cheshire and he's upset by the departures of Sir Alex Ferguson and Rene Meulensteen in the summer.

As a rule, Arsene Wenger doesn't tend to sign players over the age of 30 but he may well make an exception in the case of 30-year-old Van Persie - especially if he's available for a fee in the region of £15m.

Much will depend on Wayne Rooney, if the No10 stays, then it is expected Van Persie will move on.
