Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka is being linked with a move to MLS club New York Red Bulls. The 31-year old Frenchman has reportedly been unsettled by Chelsea's decision to spend $USD80.7million (£50m) in bringing in Fernando Torres from Liverpool and may seek a Stamford Bridge exit.
Reports suggest that New York are hoping to team Anelka with France teammate Thierry Henry. French daily L'Equipe said that Anelka's brother Claude, who was head coach of USSF D2 outfit AC St Louis last year, said Nicolas was interested in one day moving to the USA so this could be a great opportunity for that to occur.
Anelka is contracted to the Blues until June 2012 but the arrival of Torres may force him out sooner than most expect.
