Unreasonable personal demands hindering Blackpool boss in transfer market

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway believes excessive wage demands of some transfer targets has hindered his January business. Holloway was frustrated earlier in the week when Margate's Kwesi Appiah and Crawley's Tyrone Barnett shunned offers on the table for them.

"The transfer market and what people do and how they do it is ridiculous," he told the Blackpool Gazette. "We try our best. I am totally convinced we do that."

"We'll end up with people who want to play for me, who want to be at the club for the right reasons, and we'll have a fantastic attitude and a fantastic squad of people trying to better themselves.

"If those two boys (Appiah and Bennett) believe the deals we offered aren't quite right and they can maybe get better somewhere else, then good luck to them.

"But they won't get a better group of people to work with and they won't get a better opportunity to shine. If they don't want that we can't do any more."
