Matt Kassel is set to be offered a contract by MLS club New York Red Bulls according to Metro.

The 21-year old University of Maryland star midfielder was close to joining the Red Bulls in 2009 but opted to remain with the Terrapins.

But now the New Jersey native could become the Red Bulls' third homegrown player if he agrees a deal with the 2010 Eastern Conference champions.
