Universitario de Deportes defender John Galliquio is close to joining MLS club Chivas USA it has been reported.

The Peruvian international has received an offer from the Los Angeles-based outfit and it is expected he will take it read an article in LaRepublica.pe.

It suggests that Galliquio, also known as 'Tyson', had a proposal from Chivas and was close to agreeing terms.

Galliquio has notched up over 200 Peru Primer Division appearances for the 'U's' since he first joined them in 2000 and along the way has had stints with Cruz Azul, Racing Club, Sporting Cristal, USMP and Dinamo Bucharest.
