Undrafted Houston Dynamo defender Robinson unsure of next move

Eddie Robinson admits he is not too sure what his future in soccer holds after going undrafted at this week’s MLS Re-Entry Draft.

The 33-year old defender was not picked up by Houston Dynamo after his contract expired at the end of the 2011 season and he is now officially without a club.

Robinson’s options include re-signing with the Dynamo (if they will have him back), looking for a new home or retiring but he is remaining positive about his plight.

“I talked to [head coach Dominic Kinnear] after MLS Cup about things, and I believe they'll have me back,” Robinson told MLSsoccer.com. “I think if I went to them and said, ‘Hey, I feel like I've still got a few more years,’ I think they'd [bring me back].”

He added: “It's a difficult position for anyone when it comes time for the possibility of a career change. In the scheme of life, a career change is a big decision, and when you make it, you have to be absolutely sure because you don't want to have any regrets. I'm really giving it some thought.

“Whatever comes next, one thing I know is I'm going to get after it with everything I have.”
