Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni wants to play on for Nigeria, despite a poor World Cup.
Yakubu told The Daily Sun he is not going to quit Everton since he has another two-year contract.
And he is prepared to keep fighting for a place in the new Super Eagles, even as he faulted those calling for his head.
He said: "As far as I am concerned, I have always done my best for the country. In Angola, I did my best. I may not have scored goals, but I know the coaches would not have been using me if I was not in good shape."
