Jose Mourinho was full of praise for his Chelsea players for their courageous showing in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain.
A number of Blues players took little part in training in the lead-up to the Champions League Round of 16 first leg which suggests to Mourinho that his line-up produced a massive result against a quality opponent at Parc des Princes.
"(Eden) Hazard, Willian, Oscar, (Cesc) Fabregas, (Branislav) Ivanovic, they didn't train," Mourinho said.
"They did some individual training just to try to keep rolling and moving. Yesterday they trained because you (the media) were there.
"Fabregas had three days in bed, came to play without training. Injured guys (played) without training.
"They gave everything."
Chelsea enjoyed a strong first half which produced Ivanovic's 36th-minute header but succumbed to PSG's dominance in the second lot of 45 minutes which saw Edinson Cavani level with a headed effort of his own in the 54th minute.
The return bout takes place at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, March 11.
