Sport says the former Barcelona boss is keen on moving to Anfield as he faces a battle to hold onto his job with Gala.
Only Rijkaard's €5.5 million salary - and the cost of paying him out - has so far saved the Dutchman from the sack.
In the meantime, Rijkaard's minders have sent out feelers to interested clubs, including Liverpool and Ajax.
